But, it appears like the\u00a0<em>Blaugrana<\/em>\u00a0are looking for more players in the position.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, according to a report from Journalist\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StalinCobena\/status\/1678449856501751819\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stalin Cobena<\/a>, Barcelona hold a \u2018real interest\u2019 in LDU Quito defensive midfielder Oscar Zambrano and talks are expected to take place over a possible transfer in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old Ecuadorian prospect made his first-team debut for his club last year and has since gone on to make 29 appearances, in which he has scored a goal.<\/p>\n<p>Zambrano has also featured 14 times for the Ecuador U-20 national team since breaking into the team in June last year.<\/p>\n<p>A talented defensive midfielder with good passing range, Zambrano has seemingly popped up on the radars of Barcelona, with his club, LDU Quito waiting for a firm proposal from the La Liga champions for the youngster.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from a transfer fee, the South American outfit will also seek a percentage of future sales.<\/p>\n<p>It is not specified in the report whether Barcelona want to sign Zambrano for their first team or the subsidiary side. Although chances are that the Ecuadorian prospect will spend time with Bar\u00e7a Atletic before moving up the ranks if he does join the club.<\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old is not the only South American midfield enforcer linked with the Catalans, with the club also being interested in Liverpool Montevideo\u2019s Uruguayan prodigy Fabricio Diaz, although they are reluctant to pay the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/barcauniversal.com\/20-year-old-barcelona-target-will-be-sold-confirms-club-president-his-price-is-e8-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u20ac8 million fee for the youngster<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Barcelona have been scouring the market for reinforcements in the defensive midfield position following the departure of former captain Sergio Busquets.
