It is no secret that Barcelona strongly admire Bayern Munich midfield mainstay Joshua Kimmich.<\/p>\n

The Catalan giants were interested in signing the German international this summer, but the finances involved meant that a move was never a realistic possibility. Furthermore, Bayern Munich also had no intentions of parting ways with the 28-year-old midfielder.<\/p>\n

But, reports in Germany earlier this week suggested that Bayern Munich no longer see him as non-transferable and could be open to a sale if good offers arrive.<\/p>\n

Now,\u00a0Mundo Deportivo<\/a><\/em>\u00a0reports that this development has alerted Barcelona, who are still interested in Kimmich. The\u00a0Blaugrana<\/em>\u00a0are aware that a transfer would be out of reach this summer but will continue to monitor him as an option for the future.<\/p>\n

Kimmich\u2019s contract with Bayern Munich has two years left on it, meaning he would be entering the final year of his deal next summer. And in case he does not sign a renewal, there may be a chance that he could be available for a reasonable price then.<\/p>\n

For now,\u00a0Bar\u00e7a have roped in Oriol Romeu<\/a>\u00a0to reinforce the defensive midfield position following the exit of Sergio Busquets.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the\u00a0Blaugrana<\/em>, but the Catalans will look for a more long-term quality option for the pivot position.<\/p>\n
