In a huge development,\u00a0Loic Tanzi of\u00a0L\u2019Equipe<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is reporting that La Liga champions FC Barcelona are set to meet with officials from Paris Saint-Germain to discuss the possible transfer of superstar Kylian Mbappe.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old superstar\u2019s future has been a huge topic of discussion this summer after he refused to extend his contract beyond 2024. PSG have been trying to offload him this summer or get him to renew, but the Frenchman does not agree to either options and wishes to leave for free in 2024.<\/p>\n

It has forced PSG to axe Mbappe from their pre-season tour and officially transfer-list him for this summer. And enquiries have been flowing in for the Frenchman, with Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal offering a\u00a0world-record \u20ac300 million fee<\/a>\u00a0to sign him.<\/p>\n

Despite that, Real Madrid have been tipped as his likeliest destination, be it this summer or the next.<\/p>\n

However, now, Barcelona are also set to enter the equation as per the aforementioned report. The\u00a0Blaugrana<\/em>\u00a0are interested in Mbappe and would be willing to put the names of several players on the table as they do not have the money to sign him in an outright cash deal.<\/p>\n

A telephonic meeting is set to take place between the two clubs later today to discuss the situation of Mbappe.<\/p>\n

A player of Mbappe\u2019s level and quality does not come up on the market regularly and it is an opportunity that the\u00a0Blaugrana<\/em>\u00a0wish to try and capitalise on. However, given the financial situation at the club, any chances of a transfer look very bleak at best.<\/p>\n
