After Barcelona\u2019s 5-3 loss to Arsenal in their pre-season friendly, the Catalans were back out on the pitch on Thursday to put in some more work before the next game, which is the highly-anticipated\u00a0El Clasico<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Journalist Arnau Vineglas while reporting for\u00a0Jijantes FC<\/a><\/em>\u00a0caught the players in training, and reported that defender Clement Lenglet and midfield star Gavi were training separately from the group in the session.<\/p>\n

Gavi\u2019s recovery work<\/h2>\n

While Xavi gave a run out to nearly every single player on the roster in the opening pre-season game against the Gunners, Gavi, alongside Inigo Martinez and Lenglet did not feature on the night.<\/p>\n

The Golden Boy winner has been suffering from some back discomfort, which is why he wasn\u2019t on the pitch, Xavi said after the match.<\/p>\n

The youngster will be keen to catch a break and be back in action soon, after the whole squad missed out on the game against Juventus due to a bout of gastroenteritis.<\/p>\n

He is, however,\u00a0expected to be fit for the\u00a0Clasico<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in just over a day\u2019s time.<\/p>\n

Despite his young age, the Spaniard has fast become an indispensable part of Xavi\u2019s side with his technical quality and tenacity to boot, and his swift return will be crucial.<\/p>\n

Lenglet sidelined<\/h2>\n

Xavi also mentioned that Clement Lenglet was suffering from discomfort, which is why he did not feature against Arsenal.<\/p>\n

After returning from his loan stint at Tottenham Hotspur, the Frenchman has been put on the market as Barcelona continue to try and raise funds.<\/p>\n

The club have been trying to accelerate the central defender\u2019s departure, and there have been talks with Tottenham to finalize a permanent transfer.<\/p>\n

However, his wages and Barcelona\u2019s valuation of the 28-year-old have slowed the process down.<\/p>\n

Even though Lenglet has travelled with the team to the United States, previous reports stated that\u00a0he will not be involved<\/a>\u00a0in action even after he recovers from his discomfort as the club are trying to finalise his exit.<\/p>\n
